Unsurprisingly, Gatagov's recent performances for Lokomotiv didn't went unnoticed and he was called for the first time by Igor Korneev to make part of the Russian Under-21 set-up which will face the Italian Under-21 nationals tomorrow in an exhibition match. The match will be played in Saint Petersburg at 15.00, C.E.T.
Gatagov, 18, made his debut for Lokomotiv on May 16, 2009 in a game against Terek Grozny, which was also Maminov's first game in charge of Lokomotiv. From then on he never looked back and his performances continued to strengthen day by day. In 8 games for Lokomotiv Gatagov scored a goal and provided 3 assists. Well done Alan!!
Milanovic emulates Gatagov
On the other hand, the leader of the Lokomotiv-youth squad, Milan Milanovic was also called to represent his respective Under-21 side, that is of Serbia. After the match against Krylya Sovetov, Milanovic left Moscow in order to join his team mates to prepare for their friendly against Israel. As admitted by himself, this is a great achievement for Milanovic since the majority of the squad are between 2 and 3 years older than him. Recall that Milanovic joined Lokomotiv in January, 2008 at the age of 16 years. Well done Milan!
