Today, Lokomotiv played a friendly match against Ukranian powerhouse Dynamo Kiev, the team which were lead by our Yury Semin for the last 12 months. Recall that another great Russian tactician in the form of former CSKA Moscow head coach Valery Gazzaev was installed in place of Semin. In a very interesting affair, Lokomotiv recorded a 3-2 victory over their Ukrainian counterparts.
Artem Milevskiy opened the score on the quarter mark for Dynamo Kiev. However Lokomotiv pegged Dynamo immediately with a goal from Senegalese striker Baye Djiby Fall following some good work on the left by the rejevunated Sychev. Fininho put Lokomotiv ahead on the 34th minute but Tiberiu Ghioane restored parity on the 58th minute. When the match was looking to be heading for a draw, Lokomotiv snatched a late winner from a penalty scored by Dmitry Sychev. Moreover it's important to point out that in the 64th minute Olexander Aliev saw his penalty being palmed away by Loko goalie Guilherme. A really good test and result for Lokomotiv!!
* I would like to excuse myself for posting a post which cited that Lokomotiv shared the spoils with Dynamo Kiev. The reason was that the website I used to find out the result wasn't updated and thus I ended putting up the wrong score.
