Today, during a general meeting of the team in their last pre-season gathering, Dmitry Sychev was elected as Lokomotiv's new captain for the upcoming season. For Sychev this will not be the first time that he will be wearing the captain's armband on his arm as last season he regularly deputised for Rodolfo, when the latter was out injured.
Georgian defender Malkhaz Asatiani and former captain Rodolfo were selected as vice-captains.
