Lokomotiv officially sign Maicon

After days of rumours and protracted negotiations, finally Lokomotiv got their man. Maicon Marques Bitencourt - Maicon for short is Lokomotiv's new man. Although Lokomotiv didn't disclosed the fee involved, according to various sources, it is believed that Loko shelled out € 4.5 million in order to prise Maicon away from Fluminense. The 1990-born versatile forward signed a contract of 4.5 years. Maicon will play under the number 90.

Prior to joining Lokomotiv, Maicon played all of his career with Fluminense. The 1.81m forward joined the Tricolor in 2006 and went on to rack up 66 appearances and scoring 6 goals in the process. Recently the youngster formed a lethal partnership with Fred in the Fluminense attack and his explosive speed earned him the nickname Maicon Bolt, in comparision of Usian Bolt, the reigning champion. Maicon was also part of the Brazilian U20 squad who won the silver medals in the last Under 20 World Cup.
